Edition of 200 – 140 gM Grey vinyl with black& white splatter
Trigona is Rob Shiels, a one-man recording project that began in early 2020 in Ipswich, Queensland. Over the last 18 months, Rob has recorded hours of songs and jams in his home studio, like so many others, using his pandemic-enforced isolation to create music as a means of escape.
With elements of psych, motorik beat krautrock and space rock threading their way through the tracks, Trigona’s music is big on reverb, fuzz, delays, phasers and tremolo. Despite the penchant for effects, melody is never lacking on these instrumental tracks, which are driven first and foremost by lead guitar.
Rob’s music has generated label interest in the USA, the UK, Europe and Australia, and the first two physical Trigona releases will be forthcoming in 2022. A prolific amount of recordings were produced in the last year, so there will no doubt be additional releases to come.
Rob lives with his wife, whose photographic wizardry fronts Trigona’s releases, and two dogs, who are equal parts adorable and maddening.
